yes they do, although it is a design fault that they dont switch off, which helps them wear out quicker....had to replace a few in my time...id guess your drivers side doesnt work

My Quattro has them, though they were broke when i got the car.... pop the mirror out and you will see 2 wires plugged onto the back of the glass ... they plug onto a little thermo switch which as mentioned earlier fails after a while due to being on all the time..... you can cut these switches out with care and replace them with new ones available for a couple of quid normally off ebay... i did mine and when they first come on they are quite warm to the touch.....
