Hi Guys,

Can you direct me in the direction where i can get VAGCOM for free or a cheap that will do the checks on my 1997 A3 TDI.

Also where i should get serial cables etc...

Links, websites, would be greatly appreciated.

Can someone Copy it and sell it to me?? (Not asking for illegal copying:busted_cop.

You can down load old versions of the official software from there website for free

As for the cable i would go for one from Alpha bid off ebay, It allows you to do all the basic functions. I had one before i went for the full system from rosstech. Obviously you need the full cable to unlock all the functions but for basic fault finding the Alpha Bid cable will be fine
