Hi Guys,
*Sighs* Was making my way back to london from MidlandVW yesterday as i had them fit a few clutch and flywheel (excellent service) when my car when into limp mode on the Motorway. The EMS light was flashing. I pulled over, turned the car off, and a puff of white smoke came from under the bonnet. I opened the bonnet to find the Oil stick sticking out. This morning i realised one of the coil packs was sticking up (not flat like the rest). I bought a new coil pack and took it to a garage. They then like me tried to install the new coilpack but the coil wasnt going down far enough, they then took the coil pack out and took out the spark plug to find oil (liquid) all over it. This was cylinder 1 which was coming up as misfiring on the diagnostic tool. He then checked the other plugs and 3 out of the 4 of them were wet. The car when started was smoking out of the exhaust and under the bonnet. The engine management light comes on fully now, no more flashing. The mechanic said the compression was low, he removed the oil stick and you could here the air being forced down.
I have been told i may need a new gasket, this wasnt checked by a vw specialist.
Apologies if i didnt explain very well, but please can anyone point me in the right direction. Give me an indication of the costs i may be looking at? Point me to a good garage that charge reasonable amounts, hopefully in the east london area where i can take my car to?
Thanks.
