Hi all, have got an s3 remapped to 265 by revo, i have a recirc forge valve on think it the 007 non-adjustable one. does anyone know if this would be the best one, i know they also do an adjustable valve, would this be better or does anyone know any better makes?

From what i have read mate, everyone seems to be upgrading their dumpvalve to what you currently have on there.

Forge 007P is what most people use, i have that and a BMC CDA with a custom cold air feed linked to it and it makes a really nice sound.

Forge do a SlitR valve but from what ive heard it doesnt make any different noise to what the 007P does?

thanks guys thats helpful. i would like to get more whoooosh out of it though. do they do a kit that will increase this. the reason i was asking about the best dv is that forge do a adjustable one that seems to be more expensive. are there any actual gains to this one.?

Forge do the Splitter valve which is adjustable that will enable more of a woosh noise but still run fine with the 1.8T.

will that add any other performance gains to the dv i already have though? or is it just the fact its a splitter valve that makes it more expensive?

The DV you're using at the moment hasn't given you anymore performance gains and neither will this one. The Forge valves are just more duriable and better looking.

could be. sparks should be fine. just booted it home one day from work and hasnt felt the same since. have had a quick check for loose pipers but mayb will have to have a more detailed look. i can hear the turbo kick in and the revs increase but between 3-6000 rpm the acceleration slows and can hear increased air which isnt the turbo if that makes sense

Take it down to your local tuner where are you based?

They'll stick it on Vag-com and check for any faults and then get it remapped your turbo will kick in better then for sure!

The valve that you have IS adjustable. It is accomplished by way of changing springs. The adjustable 007 is only different in that the manifold nipple is on the side of the valve cap and it can be rotated 360* (adjustable).

The new (ish) forge SplitR valve sounds really good, my mate has one on his ibiza cupra. Considering one for mine, i used to have the tried and tested 007P

The only difference between the 007P and SplitR is that the SplitR dumps some of the air into the atmosphere (typical whooosh noise) and the rest is re-circulated back into the system. where as the 007P is a fully re-circulating valve - more quiet

Going to try my mates SplitR valve on my car sometime so i can see what it sounds like!

As said, check the spring colour in the Forge 007P. If you're using the green spring then it may be losing boost and not holding it for long enough. If this is the case try the yellow spring which is the one we recommend for S3's and mapped S3's and also the one we're running on our own S3.

Thinkin of buying the splitter vavle of forges and wunderd if you get any power loss when its dumping?? and if its as good as a normal re-circ when its in full re-circ mode???? dont no if its chavvy either.... love the sound of a turbo dumpin though...

VAG-Com logs with the SpltR are indistinguishable from those with a fully recirc valve so there shouldn't be any power loss.

The recirc opening on the SpltR is slightly smaller than that of our 007 so theoretically there will come a point where the hybrid runs out of flow before the 007. Not sure when this occurs but during prototyping it was fine on our test car (337 aka 25th anniversary edition) at ~23psi... or roughly 1.59 bar.
