Hi allTook my S3 into Audi yesterday as i had noticed that there was rust appearing in little scabs on the paint work over rear C pillar and boot lid. They told me that this was something called fall out and is on top of paint and not coming through even thoguh it looks to me as though it is. Is this right or am i being fobbed off?

look into it audi have 12yr painy and anti rust warranty.i may be wrong.how old is it?

Paint is 3 years but anti perforation is 12 years. If what i am seeing is a precursor to the dredded rust bubbles I would like to know know. They have submitted a claim for the bubbling on the roof.

Mines 2002 and its started to bubble round the windscreen. I would be interested to know if i can claim, can anyone confirm this.
Thanks

Only thing you hve to be careful about in those sorts of areas is that they can claim stoine chips. There's alot of info on here about corrosion on these cars but anything around the front of the car seems to be difficult to cliam

i had bubbling come up round my rear arches .
took it to vindis audi and the didnt really
want to no. he got a gadge out that meaursed
the depth of the paint and claimed that the car had
, had paint work done before making the warrenty
void.hope you have better luck than i did.

same happened to me, measure using a paint thickness micron meter fobbed me off with it had a respray to one side which void the whole car! but the paint was the same thickness all the way round!
i didn't really have a leg to stand on!

I had one side of my car resprayed through an Audi dealer and they told me that, as I had the work carried out at their approved bodyshop, the 12 year paint warranty would still be valid.

Would this be true or was he just making this up to avoid a lot of awkward questions?

I had my roof rails done under warranty even though I had some paint work done on the car previously, I told them straight It had work done on one side, but not near the roof, they we're more than helpful. Birmingham Audi in Solihull.

my audi dealer are putting a claim in at the moment for rust on the roof of my car, hopefully they will accept it

audi have just accepted my claim. Booked in to have the roof and both sides of the car done for NOWT.

Thats awesome Doug. While you are at it, might be worth enquiring what it would cost for them to do the lot - get a nice shiny motor with majority of it paid for already!Got a call today and the warranty chap is visiting tomorrow so should get a call soon. Fingers crossed.

What stealers are you using? Anyone used one in or around the Herts area?

Got a call last week to say they had accepted my claim without even inspecting it! Took it to Audi yesterday and picked up GOlf Blue motion. THey are resapraying roof and down both rear corners. Result.

I've just had my rear qtrs and screen pillars done under w'tee.

Dealer thought it was stone chips, however oxidisation of the galvinisation causes a blister with a central raised area that can look like stone chips.

AUK claims specialist came across from London - all authourised without question.

can anyone confirm the paint warranty is 12 yrs?

Had mine done last week bubbles on the roof rails .....sutton audi no probs at all

does anyone have any pics of this "fallout" - i cleaned mine at the weekend and noticed some very small bumps in the paintwork on the leading edge of the rear arch and think it could be this

thanks in advance

Mike

Ill have to go see Pompey Audi, Ive got bubbling on a small section of my roof rails too, didnt know it might be covered

Funnily enough I noticed a small bit of bubbling on my roof rails yesterday. What's the procedure for putting in a claim, contact dealer and take it from there I guess?

i just went to audi and asked them if i can claim Bloke popped outside for a look he said yes. AND THAT WAS IT 2 weeks later my cars getting sprayed
