Aux belt wasn't free was it?, they relieved you of 399 quid lol, about the going rate for an independant specialist in my opinion.

Just booked mine in at the local main dealers, Cambelt, Tensioner, Waterpump. £373.07:icon_thumright: Not bad for the Sytealers

i paid £140 for my cam belt change but it was a private jobby, lol

Mine is being done as I type, cambelt KIT and waterpump, £300 inc VAT, plus brake fluid and ARB drop link bush total £400 inc VAT

PS, Coradoman, thats pretty good for a main dealer, my local Audi wanted £500 just for the cambelt and waterpump

mine is costing only £150 incl VAT, all in

from driveway Audi :eyebrows:

Jabba did my belt tensioners & replaced water pump with a metal impellor one for £332.50

Just got a quote for my cambelt on my 2.8 quattro. New belt, tentioners and water pump £350. Not bad from a specialist, I daren't get a price from a dealership.

okies mines going in on the 16th to be done, not sure what the cambelt is costing but this is the work the fella is doing for £650inc VAT invoice as i wanted the stamp and warranty for work etc

Full 80k service inc aero wipers and fuel filter, pollen, plugs,VAG check etc etc
Cambelt/other belts
water pump (standard plastic impeller)
Haldex oil/filter
alarm switch
full set of mats
passenger seat handle replace
6 hours labour

All genuine Audi bits

I didn't think this was bad as Peter Gilders in Sheffield wanted £407 for the cambelt, £100 for water pump and £380 for 80k service. plus the other bits.

That doesn't sound too bad....I ve just had to shell out 1200 quid for a new clutch and dual mass flywheel..... now she needs a good service and a new cambelt. Any specialist recomendations for the hampshire area, I got the clutch and flywheel done at Gearlink, they were really good.

I got my clutch/flywheel done for £600 at an independant

I tried out Stafford Audi's ebay special last week

Cam belt change / tensioners / water pump replaced / auxiliary belt / haldex fluid change

£470 all in - pretty happy with the price considering a main dealer

I believe the price without the Haldex oil was 395 !

My independant would have charged 350+ for that so not a bad deal for a dealer with 2 year guarantee

i think its weird how the prices differ so much, i know we have inflation, cost of living etc etc...but the differences are off the chart
