A3 1.8 T Advice... Where is the engine number????

Hi,

I'm about to buy a new A3 1.8 T. Its a 2000 new facelift model. I know its the correct engine but where can I find the engine identification number???? so I can match it up with whats on the V5 log book????

it should be on the chassis plate in the engine compartment and on the windscreen.

I think there might be a sticker in the boot as well - by the spare?

are you looking for chassis number or engine number??
