Window off the runners !

Im having a bad week

Anyone had there window drop off the runner before? happend to me tonight, is just a case of wipping the door card off and putting the glass back in the regulator?

I think it is more likely that the clips that hold the glass on to the regulator have broken. Did the glass just fall to the bottom of the door? This is a very common problem with the 8L and Mk4 Golfs. The clips are made of plastic and are prone to failing. Not sure if Audi do the same but you can get a repair kit for the Golf which has metal clips so it shouldn't happen again.

Replacement is not too difficult. As you say, remove door card and then the whole of the window regulator. Should be fairly obvious when you get in there.

I had to do both of my front windows on a previous Mk4 Golf. The repair kit is/was about £35 each side.

Im having plenty of luck Ash, problem being its all bad

Doing my best to stay positive, probaly mod the S3 now lol
