Hi, new here and first post:)

Bought myself a nice 2000 A3 quattro last week and have been changing a few bits that need replacing thermo sender, stat.

The bonnet switch has come away from it's location but I can't see where it goes back!:wtf:

Can anybody describe or even better a photo of where the switch belongs!

Have tried a search but no results

Cheers

Which switch it this? is it one that tells you whether the bonnet is up?
Welcome by the way. Hope you enjoy your new motor

Welcome, you'll love the motor! :jump:

Not sure what you're talking about with this bonnet switch, can you elaborate a bit?

Hi All,
Think I'm gonna have to post a picture up of it. I think it should indicate whether the bonnet is up for the DIS and maybe part of the alarm/service frequency.
It's a simple tiny button switch which is triggered by a metal arm which must have to come in contact with something. The cabling is routed along the top of the radiator and ends very close to the bonnet catch.

Will get a pic posted tomorrow

So here's the pic of the bonnet switch, any advice on where this belongs and the functions it performs are most welcome.

Loving the quattro, had many VW's over the years & fancied a change :)

looks like the bonnet switch , which shows on the dis if it is ope or closed.

Looks as though it could fit into the lock mechanism, I will have to have a look at ours when I next go in the garage :)

If you could have a look for me it would be appreciated:icon_thumright:
