Hey all ,

would anyone be interested in doing a swap/deal with my car ? me and the misses have just put our names down on a house , and have come the situation where we do not need 2 cars and just need 1 practical car. So we have decided to sell our 2 cars and go for an a3 1.8t :icon_thumright:

if anybody is interested or has any questions please let me know , thanks

haha , always a bad move when you forget to put the link to your car in .....

but i cant till i make 2 or more posts !!!! so look below
:icon_thumright:

Nice car, what tyres are it on?

Also who done the respray?

I'll pass the ad on to a mate who may be interested, i take it its putting out about 220bhp?

I'd rather cut my balls off with a rusty bread knife.
Thanks for the offer though

rodenal - the re-spray was done by my local body shop , auto fx . done an exellent job , a lovely deep finish . id say the car is an easy 250bhp , with all the mods on it . The tyres are budgets i think , as they were on my standard set , but they are suprisingly grippy

aky - where shall i send the rusty bread knife ? :icon_thumright:

I used to love the look of the MR2 when i was younger, then drove one and it shattered my erection....... was one of the last of that shape with the nice wing on...... silver on grey...... the 2.0engine was poop....not driven the turbo version so cant pass comment...... bet its a handful

Tim

Has it ever been RR'd? 250bhp is verry optimistic imo

Exhaust 3bhp

C/C - 0 bhp

Induction 1-2bhp

Considering what it will have lost over the years i'd say 220bhp will be right if not a bit optimistic.

Not trying to slate you or your car just being realistic, ill speak to my mate anyway and pm you.

And Aky, ever driven an mr2 turbo? Very Very Very good, quick cars in the dry, a little bit porky but still good fun.

I have to say you're a brave man driving it on budget tyres tho i had a set on mine for about a week before i seen the light!

nick named the widow maker I thought!

Why does your add say you need the cash but on here you want to swap?

bit optimistic at £3k i think.....what are they going for generally?

£3k is a decent price for one with those miles, i'd say it's about bang on.

When i had mine i gave it nothing but respect in the wet, little boys in corsas would soar by thinking they were 'beating' an mr2 turbo.

Truth is unless you have very good tyres and alot of skill you'd be a mad man to push one on in the rain.

I am neither an extremely skilled driver or a madman, hence i still live as does my old car i believe lol.

im just thinking, the cars been for sale for 40 days and 40 nights..... if thats what they are fetching then fair enough.

bong water - it says that becasue at 1st it was just me selling my car just for the money for the deposit , but since then the misses has decided to sell her car aswell and we are just only gonna have the 1 car , and she like the audi a3 . so we both have to sell ours cars either way and then buy an a3 , just thought it would be easier to swap and save some hasstle:shrug:

1animal1 - a standard mr2 turbo are fetching anything up of 2500 , with all the mods on mine and the difference i have made i thought 3000 was a good price , each to there own tho:p

never had it rolling roaded , just going on what people think on imoc and such places.

Im with fanny-mal on this one, a good modified car isnt really worth any more than a good standard one unless you can find someone willing to pay for the mods, where as alot of people would rather do the mods themselves to their own spec and for thier own piece of mind.

Anyway welcome to the forum and good luck in your search

thanks mate , i know what u mean , id rather do the mods myself , half the fun and all that . if anyone is considering putting mods a mr2 turbo then just to note that the charge cooler system £500 alone for a mr2 specialist to supply and fit.

And then it would be worth more than a standard one

To quote DB "a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it" no more no less.
I have a car which owes me over twenty grand but I'd be lucky to get half of that.

Add on parts dont add value to cars tho, mines a great example of that. I paid market value for my car, and thats got over £15k worth of recipets for fairly recent work done to it. That was because people wouldnt pay for what had been invested in it.

Can i just add....the MR2 has been for sale for 40 days according to pistonheads..... quote 'a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it'....... hope your not after a quick sale mate

i just sold my 125k a3 1.8T for £2k...... i know which id have gone for....i know its personal preference AND your on a VAG forum...... the quality is a different league all together IMO.

Good luck with sale though fella

As a fellow newbie its a bit of a shame that this post has deteriorated into a "its not worth that thread"

Surely if you dont want to swap then dont post?

I do hope that this isnt indicative of the whole forum and the Audi Blinkers as i intend to own an Audi soon and if i come across like Tim aka Animal then ill cry :bye:

you will notice that threads dont always stick to what they start off being lister, no offence intended....... why is it deteriorating? because somebody has expressed an opinion?....TBH matey i think its taking this information into consideration that will help sell the car....maybe....who knows...

Or am i gaining by devaluing the car and ive taken an instant disliking to bridog.....i have merely stated the obvious......

Bridog, i hope you havent taken offense to this post...if you have then i apologise....not intended

Audi's suck **** anyway and a fair few owners are up their own ****'s. People were asking questions and just offering the bloke their opinion from another point of view (as this is a discussion forum and he was posting on here asking for people interested in swaps that might own the car he's after... and granted no one seems to)

Tim is brilliant and was just asking the questions, as were you when you chipped in with your little comment up there ;)

But yeah its a forum built around what is considered (wrongly by many) to be the finest machinery known to man, so you will get people slating other marques and slapping eachothers backs, reflective of every forum Ive ever looked on

Your such a liar Tim! You told me you intended to offend Bridog and devalue his car so you could buy it off him cheaply ;)

lol nah only messing, its friendly enough on here but your gonna get strong views and opinions, particulary pro-audi (it is audi-sport.net lol)

Think we've all already wished him all the best in selling that car and hopefully getting himself a nice A3
