1.8t Quattro Excesive average consumption!!?

Hi All,
Over the last few months i have noticed my average consumption increasing progressively... I cleaned my MAF meter with some IPA spray which i have been told works and the element in the sensor looks shiney and clean. I have also noticed there is quite a bit of turbo lag and when the turbo does kick in it seems really aggressive. If i drive carefully, around 30 miles a day two and from work, which is mostly main roads, i will get average 28Mpg if im really lucky. if i drive semi-carefully then il get average 25Mpg Im getting about 300 miles to a tank of super unleaded. Im sure i used to get more than this!!? Whay kind of Economy are you guys getting and how many miles to the tank. Any reasons this could be happening other than the weight of my right foot?

my mate who has the same car as you is getting exactly the same figures.....see the consumption thread on the message board.....£20 lasts me 80-85 with steady driving and a couple of blasts....works out at 23.8 according to the DIS

Fuel consumption always goes up in cold weather.
