Activated charcoal filter N80 is ticking

got home from work this morning its -2 outside bbbbuuuurrrr!
before i turned my engine off i opened my door and heard a ticking a bit like injectors but way louder coming from near my coolant expansion tank, it turns out thanks to elsa its the n80 activated charcoal filter but it ticking really loud, so i turned the engine off and then back on it started ticking again.
anyone got any ideas???

Totally normal mate?? happens on all VAG cars (maybe all cars probably)
It returns unused fuel back to the tank, so the noise you hear is the solenoid pulsating.
Sorry if you already knew that, just thought id say it. Matt

its like ten times louder than usual though!

you can unplug it but not sure if this will have any adverse effects

I was once told they work a bit harder if you've been sat in traffic.
