I bought my '01 S3 5mths ago and have only one gripe - the cockpit noise. I suggest checking for little noises at all different ranges of speed.
Other than that, I can't fault it.

The DV for fluttering noises is a common one and air box hose to check as some collapse at high revs (I have uprated both DV and hoses) , but apart from that quite a sound car really.........all depends on the age and mileage (wear and tear)
Yeah know how crap the bosh one is. got a ibiza cupra at the moment and changed that out for a forge dv007. Which hose do you mean by airbox hose?
