Rear number plate light

Right, car's booked in for MOT next week, and just found out my number plate light is out. I unscrewed it to remove the thing, and it came on!

So the bulbs not blown, and pressing it into the recess makes it come on, but tightening the screws hand tight and it's dead.

Anybody had this??

Never been near rear no plate lights on mine but could the screws be shorting it? Try some electrical tape around the bulb holder
