engine probs got these snap on codes anyone help me?

pluged in on my car and it's shown this code 00515 hall sensor-g40 open circuit/short with power as i only have auto data to look up the P codes i cant relate this to anything.

reason i pluged in was because after leaving the car for 5mins then starting it, went to pull away and felt the accelerater flutter under my foot and the revs were bouncing up and down from 1000rpm under, came to a stop and it stalled but then started fine and bin fine since. i have recently fitted a dv but all connected ok it came off a golf 2000 w reg and mines a 1997 it's a bailey re-curc one.

What car??

Hall sensors are distributor related usually are they not

as a random guess try unplugging your maf - check for any loose trim that could be impeding airflow too

on a 1.8t 1997, just went to my brothers who's got vag com and it came up with camshat position sensor (hall). so prob give that a go. cheers mark
