TT Gear-knob...

Just wondered if any of you knew off the top of your head if this gear knob would fit my Prefaclift A3?

The standard one is made from rubber i think its all worn now so want a replacement.. will be looking for a short shift kit too soon...!

Does the gear-knob just pull off?

i don't know if there is a way around it, but the gearknob on my a3 sport is attached to the gaiter, so you may need a new one of those too..

They do it in 5 speed too...

I noticed that too Sam-K hmm i was thinking this was going to be simple?

Do you have to cut it off and put a custom gaiter on there or something?

when i had my a3 it already had an aftermarket gearknob on, a fakey cardon look one and my gear gaiter is only atached to this by a clip so can be removed.

Anyway, I have a TT gearknob, saw it on ebay and thought it looked cool, and it does... everytime i open my glovebox lol.
Have had it for months, you will need to cut a thread onto your gearstick, which isnt easy! i tried for about an hour with a small tap and die set then gave up lol.

Think i might just sell it and buy a facelift knob!

Guys i just noticed the gearknob on this websites banner at the top, what gear knob is that, and where can i get hold of one of them, i dont have 6 gears tho by the way

I asked the same question about the gear knob at the top of the page aparantly it is a TT one. Not sure if you can get it in 5 speed or not.
