Just interested if I should service/ replace my DV. I've had a hyperboost on the car for nearly a year without any problems. As I'm not technically minded I didn't know whether they are a consumable. Can they be serviced? It looks litke a sealed unit.

Cheers.

Maintenance of Diverter Valve.

1. Obtain service kit from AMD.
Contains:
Revised Spring. (stronger 2.5mm wire instead of 2.2mm)
Sachet of grease
6 new cap head (Allen key) screws
3 O-rings :
Lid 46mm x 1mm
Body 43mm x 2mm
Piston 40mm x 2mm

2. Remove DV from vehicle.

3. Remove 6 screws and dismantle. Lid will try and separate when you undo screws as the spring is beneath it.

4. Once dismantled it should look like this:

5. Clean Out DV. Removing old O-rings x 3.

1 where lid seals,
1 on piston
1 inside the bore of the DV body.

6. Here is the old spring compared to the new one. Same height dimensions and coils, just stronger wire, for more spring force:

7. Replace O –rings with new, lubricate bore, O -rings and piston with supplied grease and reassemble with new spring:

Cheers Jester but I'm sure mine is sealed so cannot be serviced. I think a new one is in order just to be on safe side. Its done nearly 13,000 miles.
