Oil top up

Just checked my oil level and it could do with a top up. It's due a service in December so will get oil and filter changed then. Can someone tell me what oil I should use in the mean time? It’s an A3 TDI

What year is the car and is it on AVS (variable servicing)?

Ask audi to be sure, but I think you can use upto 1 litre of non AVS spec oil between services in an emergency. As long as you dont mix non synthetic with synthetic or wildly different viscosities, you should be fine.

Its a 2003 and it's not on AVS

One Audi garage said I need 5w-30 oil and the other Audi garage said 0-30. Audi did tell me the car was on longlife service

best bet is to ring the garage that serviced it last and ask what they used.
