Coolant loss changing Thermostat?????

I have concluded its my Thermostat that's tired after a few days and using A/c No.49. Digital display and Temp gauge are there or there abouts so sender must be OK. Going to change it at the weekend all being well. How much coolant will I loose???? Should a litre of G12 be enough??? The coolant was changed only about a year ago so not going to flush it out!

Paid just over £15 for stat and O ring, numbers if anyone needs them..........

where did you get the parts from I need to change mine

Open the collant bottle to depressurise the system completely and close it, there will be some loss of coolant, but 1 litre should be fine i guess

See previous posts for stat position. Its left hand side of block by alternator. Got the parts from local VW dealer. Will get some G12 when i collect the parts!
