Hi guys, its probably worth just buying the turbo, I have a 1.8 20v non turbo, would it be worth taking parts from a turbo engine to convert mine to turbo, or is it too much work for what its worth? Was just wandering thats all.

Cheers. Brett

Fitting a turbocharger to your non-turbo engine would require a great deal of work & expense.

You would have to lower the compression, alter the fueling and ignition/management/mapping, fit new parts like sensors, manifolds, cams, turbo, exhaust parts, turbo management system, possibly stronger engine components, ducting, stronger gearbox & clutch/dive components, brakes etc, etc.

Even transplanting a complete turbo engine & ECU setup, your car may need more parts to handle the power increase safely.

It is generally far cheaper to buy a turbocharged car.

better selling your car and buying a 1.8 Turbo car. will probably work out cheaper, be more reliabel and a hell of a lot easier to insure.

Oh right, i guessed it would have been cheaper just to buy the Turbo, thanks for the advice anyway mate.
