Have been looking at the site for about three months now and it has been a massive help in me buying my S3....with regards to what to look for and how much I can expect to pay to get things sorted etc.

I finally bought a Goodwood Green 51 S3 and am over the moon with it.

I had a coilpack go after just one week and thought I had major problems as the car sounded terrible and wouldnt drive at all.
I had already been speaking to a specialist with regards to a cam belt change so I gave him a call. He came out to me, fixed the problem and didnt charge me a penny as I was having him carry out alot of work just a few days later.

So just to say a big thank you to Dean of 4 rings and also to everyone on this site that have helped with the purchase of my car. :icon_thumright:

If anyone is based anywhere near the M25 and would like Deans contact details please feel free to PM me.

Thanks again

Andy

Welcome. Glad you're pleased with the car, had mine almost a year now and am still addicted to it!
The guys on here are great, a massive wealth of knowledge to solve any little problems.
Have fun

No major plans for the S3 yet. Been busy putting the little bits right that need doing on a second hand car but I can see me getting sucked in to a remap at some stage. Although living in London you struggle to get out of second gear or finding a whole road with no speed bumps!!!

These cars are very addictive!!!

Nice colour, you don't see many around! Oh and a remap is a must have modification by the way! ;) with TT pedals as well.. oh Aero wippers! ;)

Yeah, I wasnt sure I wanted a green one and only went to look at it because it was on the way to the black one i was seeing and I loved it straight away!

I definately want to remap the car but am in two minds as I rely very heavily on my car for work and I dont want to compromise any reliability.

Does remapping a car with no other mods make it less reliable as I dont want to do to much else to it?

Pedals are a definate possibility but can they be fitted so they are easily removed without damaging the original ones?

Wipers....gonna look into!!

How addictive is owning an S3 and doing little bits to it!!!

Remapping it does very little to reduce reliability, especially if most of your journeys are just commuting where you'll be taking it easy anyway.

Thanks Rodenal,:icon_thumright:

I think it will be done in time but the thing seems really quick to me still at the moment anyway cause I havent had it long and owned an Astra coupe before which is now where near as quick.

Hi Andy, welcome to the site. :icon_thumright:

welcome mate, yeah ive had my s3 since june and am addicted to it although i was offered a nissan 350z for £13k last week which almost temped me but thats another story..since june all ive done to mine is tinted the windows and fitted a bailey dv,but am getting a remap next week, cant wait, but it doesnt stop there as im soon getting new wheels new turbo intake pipe, samco hoses, fmic, and brembos, these cars are great and the modding is endless but costly but im my oppinion they are worth every penny, enjoy the car mate as all the current owners do:rockwoot:
