    Coilovers?? Cant decide...

Hi guys i want my car to go a bit lower,

Ive currently got the H&R Suspension kit on it which coems with 55m springs on the front and 45mm springs on the rear, I was told by APS that no other springs will fit as they're made for the shocks or something? Think its the H&R Pro kit or something?

Would a set of 17's on it make it sit lower? Was thinking a set of TT Comps maybe? Or is my only option to get it lower to get a set of coilovers?

    Cheers

It will lower it ever so slightly but not really enough to say 'wow that's lower!'. If you want it real low then coilovers are the way to go but you'll also need to change your front ARB if you havn't already done so. Here's my old A3 on coilovers...

Im about to go for coilovers... not so much to lower it further... more for the easy of adjusting the height and self fitting.

I have coilovers and have thought about going a bit lower but have noticed that it looks like my driveshaft has caught very slightly on whatever part of the car is over it as it comes into the arch so worried to lower it more.
anyone else had issues with this ? think mine is only around 50mm.

Probabley rubbing on the Anti Roll Bar mate, very common problem when lowering 50+mm. A new after market Anti Roll Bar will solve the problem and also enable yo to go lower!

Yeah but also means it shouldn't be rubbing!

how do you find the H&R roll bars Josh? i was looking at them, but they run such a huge front bar i thought they would feel awful.

Eibachs run 22 front and 25 rear, yet H&R are 26front and 22 rear..... its a totally different balance.

I was going to go for coilovers on mine, but ive recently realised that i should be spending my money on the mini! the audi is still 'really' a daily driver. so instead im going with a weitec 50mm shock/spring kit.

I find them alrite! but i havent tried anything else to compare it lol. TBH i did think about the bar sizes after i bought them and when looking, i wondered how much difference the rear bar would make however thick seeing as the rear wheels are already fixed by what surely can be classed as a massize anti roll bar anyway.

i just removed my front roll bar completely. i actually prefer the way it handles without it.

Thanks for all the replies guys, Seems like it isnt worth me shedding out 500 quid for little or no difference, Im happy with the front its on h&r shocks with h&r springs at 55mm on the front which looks great and 45mm on the rear its only the rear that i wanted a bit lower to be honest.

I also have the H&R Anti roll bars amazing transformation when i had them fitted.

My problem is that apparntly you cant buy springs for these H&R Shocks that i have? If i could just get a set of 55mm springs for the rear id be happy but guess that isnt an option?

    Cheers
