I am looking at uprating the suspension on my 1.8T, question is what to go for coilovers or Dampers and springs?

Does anyone have coilovers on there 1.8T or are they to expensive for not much gain compaired to say Eibach springs and dampers etc.

Ideas anyone..

I think this has been covered before and from what i recoil /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif coilovers are a bit to specialised for road use. they are designed for the track and although they look good and sound good when at pub you will never gain the advantages that coilovers offer when driving on the road.
Plus they are damm expensive and If you were to buy the cheaper ones on the market you would be considerably worse off than the equivalently priced spring/shock combo.

It all depends what you want to do. Do you just want to firm up the ride with a slightly lower look then OEM springs and dampners, or do you feel the need to adjust the ride height with coilovers.

Unless you are really into your "slammed" look or you need to adjust your ride height for different uses such as track days etc., I would stick to a spring and dampner kit.

Eibach and H&R seem to get good recommendations from the A3/S3 owners on these boards.
