Engine light flashing

Hi All,
Today coming home from work my engine light flashed on twice,I got home and plugged vagcom into the car,The only code it flung up was "brake switch" has anyone any ideas as to what this is ??

Possibly an intermittent fault with the brake switch under the pedal. I had one go on my first A3, I think its quite common. Cheap enough for a new switch though, I think there about £15 ish.

You might wanna get someone to check your brakes while you pumping the pedal.

If it were the brake switch would this still show on the engine warning lamp ??!!
