Xenon blues... (how much?)

My car is unfortunately suffering the renown xenon problem of the headlight pointing at the floor.
The passenger headlight is shining down at the floor.

From what I understand, this is very likely to be the motor.
I've had a VW garage "reset" the lights twice (for a rather reasonable..ehem £45), but it still points at the floor.

Has anyone had the motor replaced before? If so, how much did it cost?

The dealer (Huntingdon) quoted £235, which seems rather dear.

Do it yourself, will cost much less than that, or get them level then pull the plug our for the motor and leave it like that

Is it a DIY job then? My mechanical dexterity is very minimal.
