Hi All,

Further to my previous thread, wanted to know what you guys think of this deal then, he wants 13k, it has a specialist service schedule (mainly) seems to be a fairly clean example, just wanted to know what you guys think before i make the journey to leeds

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/245491.htm

many thanks

Bite the bullet and buy it. Its got 11 months tax so thats worth about £200

how about the story with the old cambelt then, and the service schedule, he claims it hasnt been done, and its a local garage that have serviced it? Through previous experience, we all know about ARB's etc...... But would this put you off at all? Id prob get audi to carry out the full 40k service with haldex if i bought it for peace of mind, i think at 12500 its worth it

Yeah Cambelt will set you back £350. Use it as bartering tool. Haldex is pretty simple to do and stealers will charge approx £100. Best off using a specialist to to the job lot. Prob set you back £500 for the lot.

any more advice or info? all previous S3's ive had have all had a fully documented audi history, i just dont know of any indies near me that id trust with my car thats all, previously all work carried out outside of servicing meant a drive down to oxford to see AMD

If it had chrome mirrors then it would have been a great buy! lol

;)

Just do it, it sounds good!

i think its a bit on the pricey side for not having an audi history, just a nice color combo, similar examples are going for approx 12k on the autotrader, grrrr, i dont know what to do!!!!!

Yeah, i really wanted the chrome mirrors, all my previous S cars have had it, i think its a must, few originals knocking around i have my eye on fleabay

Heated seats!? next you will be asking for mud flaps! ;)

It's pricey IMO. I know it's tempting to just buy the first thing you see (guilty as charged...) but if you wait around you could get one which is fully loaded and has the S-series mirror covers.

There are plenty of Dolphin Grey S3's about, you just have to have a little patience however difficult it may seem!

I just sold my 2002 02 plate with 44k miles.

Very very mint condition, Silver, 18" RSTT's, full black leather, Cruise, Bose, phatbox and chrome mirrors.

Full history, R32 ARB's and a Revo for £12k

Had it up at £12.5 originally and had no replies. When I stuck it at £12k I had 3 people in a week asking after it.

Really, really clean examples are hard to come by, but they also need to be priced realistically to sell, and in top order regards service history, if they are going to sell.

I paid £17k for it just over 2 years ago and spent £4k+ on servicing/tryes/cambelt/revo/air con regas/wheel alignment etc in that time.

A really well matained vehicle with have all the cambelt etc completed before you go to look at it, if not, the owner hasn't really cherished it has he?

Vishal, thats a fair bit for a car with not many options.

Thanks for posting that though, its made me feel a bit better about mine now!! I though all i would get for it was about £9k! Mines a 41k mile 52 plate personal import with 1 previous owner (so full UK car, just bought from the factory and first regg'ed in the UK, therefore not recorded as an import). It has heated seats, aluminium mirrors, sunroof, rns-d navi+, multifunction steering wheel, bose, auto dipping rearview and silver leather. It's had all maintenance schedules met or done early. Bodywork has grazes on the corners of the bumpers, but it's otherwise fine.

Unfortunately not for sale though yet :)

over priced if you ask me, and like others have said id want more options for the money.

thanks guys, exactly what i was thinking, i can get more for my money, so, looks like im going to have to wait a bit longer than expected for the right one to come along
