Wing mirror S3

Someone has smashed my wing mirror on my 2000 reg S3, the mirror casing is fine but the was the glass was left hanging out, i clipped it back in but now the heated mirror is constantly on on that side, any ideas why this is ?

You need a new one.

Just the glass as there is a sensor in it which automatically defrosts the glass.

Is there? I though the glass just had terminals for + and - for the heating element?

ah... is this true could it be something else then? before i go and replace the glass.....
