headlight upgrade help

I've already done the wiring and fitted them on the car...had this bit cut off:

BUT the headlight is leaving a gap with the wing (the curved bit)..it won't push any further in...Any ideas?

I have fitted facelift headlights to a pre-facelift S3. I had to cut more than is shown in that picture. Here's what I removed:



Somehow it felt a bit wrong taking an angle grinder to such a nice car, but I think the end result was good.

Yeah i had to take about what is shown in the pic off too plus a bit of the black plastic bumper guides too - still didnt sit exactly flush but its barely noticeable.

also watch you dont break the inner plug on the light like i did with one of mine, its now only miracles that hold it in place - yet to fall out tho lol
