    Cooked my brakes

done a bit of a search on this cant really find much info, i was havin a bit of a rally in the car on sat on the way to the pub, didnt drive far, few miles if that, had 4 people inc me in the car and i manged to cook the brakes, they were totally non-exsistant by the time i got to the pub. never happend before, done the same run a few times as well, and i wasnt goin all out.

this has scared me a bit and wondering, whats the best option for me, the brakes still feel spongy. im sure the standard brakes should be better then this. would my fluid need changing? if so how??
would a disc upgrade be worth it? or go for the S3 Calipers and discs?

    cheers in advance guys!

Hope this helps as we have the same car...chipped and all...

I went down the disc upgrade to drilled/slotted, and upgraded Tarox pads. Also changed the fluid to a higher spec and have had no problems fully loaded on several alpine passes.

Worth mentioning that the rear brakes are more TT than S3 if you order new discs. Its to do with the hat dimensions on the discs.

cheers guys, sounds like new fluid and discs is the way to go then....how much are the disc's? are they the S3 ones? and all i need to change is the caliper carriers i think? how much did your conversion cost rickquattro? might get this done as part of a service. excuse to upgrade lol.

    QR,

Just looking back on the receipts from Star Performance.....99661 miles

Brake Fluid Race Blue 12 (not a full flush though)
    Rear Discs 0227 132
    Front Discs 0238 169
    Tarox pads front 0459.112 65
    Standard rear pads 19

The discs are standard oe size, not upgraded to S3 spec. I asked about a Brembo GT kit but was recommeded to stay with this set up instead. The fronts and backs are drilled/groved and you can hear them zinging when you use them... Plenty of stopping power, better pedal feel too. A lot better than standard. Feels like a good halfway between oe and a Brembo set up.

    Hope this helps..
