Will A2 17" alloys fit 1998 A3 TDI?

Hi People,
I've been looking for some 17" versions of the old style TT 18's, I saw an A2 with some on the other day and it got me thinking (i know dangerous!)

Anyone tried this, i believe they are 5 x 100 not sure about the ET though?

I think the A2 PCD was 5 x 100 IIRC so they may well fit ok

my girlfriend has an a2 1.4 petrol, i have not long bought some rs4 18's for my s3.

would my 17' avus standard s3 alloys fit on her a2? hers look about 14' tops
