Rear Number plate lights

Hay dudes.

some knob from down the street (bmw driver) ... knocked on the door the other nite to say that the lights on my rear registration plate were on.

sure enough they were but couldnt turn them off - is this normal

That's a bit harsh! OK he drives a BMW but surely he was doing you a favour? Or do you prefer to wake up with a flat battery?

anything i can check to see why the lites stay on?

not related the the direct issue but people knock at my door when I leave my parking lights on.

It takes all my effort not to scratch my balls, sniff and repsond with "they are PARKING LIGHTS you moron"

i dont know what to check or what they would be releated to?

usually the lights id guess but they arent on
