petrol leak when tank is full....

saw it on the side of the petrol tank just near the fuel filter. very bad smell...

    drips on the ground

Happens only when tank is full...

1st guess was fuel filter, but it doesn't seem to be it since it is dripping to the ground.

Drove the car for some miles to empty the tank a little bit and it has stopped now...

So it would be the petrol tank....or any other ideas? anything to do with the breather pipes etc...?

How hard to remove the tank?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

where abouts is it leaking onto ground. my old mk4 golf leaked petrol onto ground from just infront of offside rear wheel and it was the fuel filter, new filter cured it. Got to be worth changing first before removing the tank.
