hi, just had my clutch linkage snap on the way to work, (i asume its hydraulic on the a3- 1.8t) clutch pedal just pressed to the floor never to return.
just had it towed to my local garage.

what do you rekon the damage is gonna be? few hundrew with labour??
never had this happen before... was even facing up hill so couldnt ram it into gear to get it off the road.. bummer, (only 2 weeks old car and spent £400 on new timimg belts last week! grrr)

oh right, just searched this prob, seems clutch pedal weld snapped. not sure wether to just let the garage fix it as seems like **** ache. still, glad its not something more serious.
my guess £20 parts 2 hrs labour rounded up @ £40 and hour £100 odd quid.. hmmm

just called my gargage to inform them its just the pedal, they already ordered the part, at least they aint tryin to rip me off for something more!...

are there any other comman problems i should be keeping an eye out for on a 1999 a3 1.8t? wheels flying off on motorways? or thottle pedals getting stuck down? brakes failing at 70mph?? haha.... i think i might just build my own f-ing car next time.. at least ill know its put together properly!
