Any help sick S3

Strange noise from drive train, drive my car like a granny no noise, put my foot down sounds like I have a puncture put my foot down harder most unpleaseing banging noise, thinking it might be drive shaft problem but being a mechanical novice any help would be helpful.
Dont want to pay stealership prices

A friend had something simular on a bmw and it turned out to be the mid propshaft bearing and rubber donut thing had disintergrated, leaving the propshaft banging around under the car. Hopefully it is something simple like that and not too expensive?

Did not sound like the noise was coming from the middle of my car, more the front nearside

I had driveshafts go on my old R5 GTT twice in about 3 months, and both times it was only really noticable whilst accelarating around corners. With a nasty thud thud thud, until you let off the throttle..good luck though

Does anyone know if you can get just the Donut for the propshaft without having to buy a whole new prop shaft?
