Interior Light pulsing / alarm going off - need to find an old thread !

I have the dreaded faulty microswitch issue in my drivers door which is resulting in the interior light pulsing as im driving and the alarm going off at night - I need to find some old threads on how to fix it but the links dont work, can anyone help ?

use the option to have all the lights switched off and take it to the stealers- cost me £70 for micorswitch and labour to do. tends to play up more in the hot weather.

Oh come on surely a micro switch can be changed easy enough!!!!

sounds similar to some problem i have been having.

Although my interior light hasnt come on for a good while.
does the DIS show that a door is open or do you just get a pulsing interior light ?
Does he alarm make a noise when it goes off ?




My problem has been hazards going off on there own and the interior light coming on and staying on all the time.

it seems the microswitch is a bit hard to get to so you have to change the door lock - around £40 from audi

most of the time my DIS does not show the door as open but occasionally it does and yes the alarm is going off when i leave the car and sounding the pathetically quiet siren

i had to strip the door down to change the electric window clips so i guess ill be having to do that again, its a weird 2 part assembly to the door and you have to make sure you keep all the spacers and bolts they fit at the factory marked up so you can put it all back as it should be !
