timing belt change

hi ive looked through threads trying to find out when my cam belt should be changed cant find an exact answer,my car is a 2001 s3 with 71000 miles can anyone tell me when it should be changed before i call the muppets at my local audi dealership

no i dont know,the bloke who i bought the car from said he only had the car just over a year and isnt sure whether its been changed he said it looks as if the timing case has been off but he cant guarantee its been changed and as the service history he gave me is a loada crap basically no service sheets just the stamped book and a copy of the cars service history off of vw's database then i dont really know whats been done to it,he works at Vw with my mate,so its all legit but no service papers really,so i am lloking to get the belt done just incase really,i can get the parts for dirt cheap as my friend works for vw so i may as well get it changed soon hadnt i?

I would also get the water pump looked at too, they are a common point of failure.

yeah ive ordered the belt kit and the water pump with metal blades
