Force10-Hyperblack-425x425.jpg

should be here in a few days
Now am I right in thinking these are lighter than the average alloy wheel ?
They seem to be lighter from what I can make out on the internet, only thing is how light are they ?

James.

If you actually look at wheel weights, you'll see that tyres are often twice as heavy as the wheels themselves. Interestingly.

Not sure on the weight of those though, have you looked on the wheelweights website?

They must be lighter look at all the holes drilled round the centre of them..??!!?!

Going onto a black S3.

Yeh they aint on there unfortuneatly.

Don't tell your insurance or that won't be the only thing getting lighter!!!

On a black car they will look the mutts nutts.....I hope you have the red calipers to go behind them aswell.... looking forward too sum pics!

Nope still have standard rusty calipers :p

They have been dispatched now \o/

If i were to paint the calipers they would be going either black or blue as my interior is half leather half blue alcantra

They arrived today and damn was I knackered.
I decided that fitting them to my car in my dinner hour was a good idea, however the 3rd wheel i came to all the bolts had rusted up and took absolutely aaaaaages to get off. I thought I would slap some
copper grease on however this was a problem because I was at home, so all i could find was a litre of unused engine oil from an old car so dipped the bolts in that before fitting but it didnt help (or so i thought at the time) they still took an age to get back on the car.

Anyway decided i wasnt happy with the bolts as they were so took it to the garage to get the looked at as i thought they were cross threaded, but because I had put engine oil on them it had unseized them and they came of piece of p%&#. The mechanic stuck me
some copper grease on and torqued all the bolts up for me.

The only problem as you may or may not be able to make out from the pictures is the wheels sit way too far into the arches, so I now need some spacers my problem is I havent dealt with spacers before and am unsure what to buy, I know i need hubcentric adapters. I dont know what thickness to buy though, looking at the car it looks like i need 20mm on the front and 30 - 40mm on the back.

I am guessing i would need longer bolts if i did this ?

Would i be ok with 4 longer bolts and keep the current locking bolts orwould they be no good ?

ENJOY :D

[EDIT]
Cant seem to make the pictures link to another picture only to themselves so i have added a link for a larger image below each picture :)

they were supposed to be the correct offset for my car :s
I have just looked on the POTN website where i bought them and i can't see mention of offset anywhere.

I reckon because they have multi fitment holes they probably aren't offset much so that people who need it have to buy spacers

basicly they make one wheel to fit all makes it cheaper for them to produce.

I haven't weighed them but they feel lighter than my standard 17s and they werent much more expensive than RS4 reps (just over £1000 with toyo proxes)

I have since wondered if in fact I have been sent the wrong offset :(

I suppose I will find out when i fit some spacers.

They seem to be marmite wheels judging by this thread and other peoples responses.

I originally did think hmm they look a bit small, however i reckon once the car is lowered (and spacers added obviously) they will look far better
