exhaust blowing / extended turbo lag

Can anyone advise me or have had this same problem?

exhaust sounds like its blowing/bit louder but took it to 2 garages including audi specialist who couldnt find anything wrong with exhaust.
called audi but they said 85 p/h to look at and i thought........

Turbo kicks in a few hundred later as well.
the exhaust sounds worse at cold and on idle it dips up and down a little.

theres definately something wrong but i dont know.

the exhaust will sound worse from cold , as they have a secondary water pump , sounds like the exhaust is blowing , for a minute or so , and then cuts out , the idle could be down to a idle valve or something sticking

it poping like a rally car aswell? mine went similar (on old golf), after going thro puddle. long time ago, but think it was a dead maf.
sounds very similar to what you describe

thanks guys for the advice.
will look into the maf as i think thats pretty cheap to replace.
trying to do everything i can first before having to take to audi.
