Drivers door dropped

Hi
Has this happened to anyone? its dropped about 2mm. you can see this where it meets the rear quarter. sometimes it will display the door is open when closed

I heard that the only way to re align this was to open the door and jack it up carefully with a trolley jack.
is this true?

any ideas please?

bodyshop[ should sort it mega cheap used to happen on my .:R32 weekly ended up just giving it a short sharp upwards tug from time to time
