A3 problems, help please!

Hiya

I have a mate who has a few problems with his 2001 1.8 A3, speedometer, temp, fuel, mileage, date time ect all dead (no display in other words). He has checked all the obvious things like battery and all fuses but all seam fine, any ideas were to go from here before taking it to a garage??

any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated

any lights at all? sounds like the instument cluster...may be it could have come un-plugged? jus a thought

looks like the instrument cluster, probably needs a new display is this common
