My first AVS service came along at 17,500 miles, had that done, all was fine.
Now the car has done 20,000 miles and my driving style has not changed at all, but the DIS is saying service in 9800 miles, means it wont have even done 30k before its 2nd service, is this normal ?

i'm sure it will go up in the next few thousand miles. It can take some time to adapt. You;l probably do another 8k miles and it will still say 9800 to service!

Agreed. The counter always re-starts at 10k to the next service then adjusts based on your current driving style.

True, but I thought it would have readjusted its self by now
