i have seen some k03s turbos and some on the outlet side have like a cannister and some dont , what is that cannister for?

im guessing the difference your talking about is the difference in housing between the transverse application turbos, and the longitudinal versions for the a4/passat etc.....

no there is a canister i think it is a muffler

Sounds like the actuator to me, all Turbo's need one to actuate the wastegate flap, it's just some units are sold without them.

did some come without it?

Some with some without. doesn't make a difference for power it seems.

most late ones have it.

so is there to quiten the spoolin

Oh you're talking about the actual exhaust downpipe, not the Turbo itself. It's a pre-cat located close to the Turbo so it warms up faster, this results in better cold start emissions.
