Cheers for the comments, they are 9x19 et54 with 30mm and 45mm adapters. I could still get away with another 5mm on the rear but the adapters are already affecting the performance as the unsprung weight is now quite a bit more than factory but I have always favoured form over function.
Arches are standard and I am also running Eibach adjustable top mounts and AP coils with all the helpers removed, no scrubbing of the wheels but the plastic undertray has taken a battering today!

Thanks for the positive comments means a lot and a huge thanks to S3_Kev for all his advice on fitments and clearance.

Because I am stupid I am going to space the rears another 5mm a side before UD and I need a plan to hide the state of the bodywork until I have the money together for a replacement bumper and front end respray.

utterly pointless, low res phone pic of my filthy car.....

Sat here at work on a saturday morning, so thought I'd take a snap

Front needs to come down a bit this afternoon to get rid of the slight RR I'm currently sporting. Although that could be due to a set of weitec coilovers and an ARB in the boot!

Another pointless post, a few pics of the old beast before it was laid up for 9 months

taken about a year ago, when it was last in daily service, just before it's last trip to the ring.

Wheels are now on my new A3

2009 updates doorhandles and 20" Audi new S8 with Pirelli P Zero Nero
(never buy Pirelli's in 20", with even 8mm it will get useless and dangerous! the cheeks of the tyres will tear in for 4 / 5 mm so the canvas is way too fast shown under an Audi S3 with 250 hp and too much torque for these tyres)

2010: what would be next? black BBS CH / Le Mans with gray hart / Porsche 19" Wheels / or ???

Never seen 20s on an S3 before! They look huge! What's the ride quality like? Bumpy?
Liking the 10" rears on the A3, madness!

I have had Porsche 911 Turbo Cup 3 rims on the A3 1.6, used the brake handle while turning and the nose moved  sold them very quickly. Was nice for the looks, but to drive?? no.

It's like 19 inch, but roadbumps a lot in the Netherlands, try to avoid them with 20 inches, but for the rest it's not really a difference in comparance to 19 inch. I hate 18 inch it's less comfortable than 19s. 17 inch in winter the origional wheels, 19 inch in summer. The S3 gets a full respray end february/march after that i'll decide what's next.

I will never buy 20 inches anymore, the tyres aren't strong enough, the joke had costed me brand new tyres 1680 euro in a couple of thousand kilometer more than 1300 euro, after the claim i got 325 euro back from Pirelli. Pirelli never again! The next set will be on Bridgestones or Dunlops again in 19 inch.

The S3 gets a complete respray at the end of the month or begin of next month. I doubt about changing the color into the grey or white of a Lamborghini... has anyone suggestions? It will become a private car with 1000 - 2000 km per year, for work I have ordered a brand new VW T5.
