    Replacing rear wheel bearing

    Hi folks,

Does anyone know how to go about replacing the rear wheel bearings? A local mechanic (who managed to replace the fronts) took one look and was stumpted?! I'd rather not take it to Audi so maybe a specialist visit is in order but is there any reason why it's difficult?

    Cheers

    Hi

I had one done a few weeks ago at a specialist near stratford upon avon...it is a bit of an arse of a job all the rear drive system has to be taken off (dont know mechanical terms) took them about 2 hours to do it....i was watching...only charged me for an hour though. basically take it somewhere where they have done one before, they also need a special bearing removal tool.....not a hammer and screwdriver.

    Cost me a bout 150 i think.

Sorry to bump but does anyone know if it is possible to do yourself, do you need any special tools? Thanks
