right i need to relace my rear pads and disks, my mate has just hd his done on his golf vr6, and he said he had to have the bearings replaced at same time as they have to take them out is this right?
aso are mintex sets of ebay any good?
and am i right in thinking i have 232mm rears? (2000 a3 1.8tqs)

I have some Greenstuff - brand new, still in box bought them for my MK4 but they didn't arrive in time to be fitted so ended up going OEM. If interested drop me a PM.

There are alot of better brands than Mintex out there, but if you are on a budget they will be ok. I have always found Apec to be the best standard replacement. As for the bearing, im not sure. I know that some VWs/Audis have the rear hub on the disc with the bearing inside, wether it applies to your car or not i dont know.

I'm pretty sure your car is the later rear set up where the hub stays and the change the disc only, in a similar way to the front.

The Mk3 Golf indeed did require new bearings with a change of rear disc.
