As this board doesnt seem to have a dedicated 'members motors' section I shall post this here.

I decided to stick my ADAC Sticker in the car today (for those of you who don't know, its breakdown recovery for the Nurburgring & Europe) so my car is currently looking even more German, I am considering buying it Lederhosen and calling it 'Hans' or something...

Here is my ADAC sticker with my sneakily relocated road tax:

And the German theme continues with 'euro' TT comps and German plates:

German, mis-spaced plates (which I only ever use for shows, honest) are evil and wrong...

I have loaded Kraftwerk onto my ipod and have it on shuffle now between that and Nena's 99 Luftballoons...

Still got to wax it when I have time so will be very shiny soon, ready to get thrashed at Donnington this weekend.

"Honest officer.... i had no idea that it wasnt legal... but I happen to have my standard plates in the boot:sorry: " lol

Er what do you mean about the tax disc being relocated..? Its on the right side isn't it?

I had originally placed the tax disc on the driver side...and then sneakily changed it.

ADAC is the German version of the RAC/AA.

However, they are a FAR larger organisation than our breakdown companies and as such can provide benefits that UK suppliers cannot.

For a start they are the only company to offer free recovery on the Nurburgring (saving you 175 Euros) and they also act as Breakdown cover throughout Europe.

I have ADAC plus which is the equivalent of RAC home and roadside recovery and european cover, and the RAC charge a minimum of £133 for that cover, ADAC charge me £53.

Also, if you break down anywhere, even in Europe, ADAC will tow you home, paying ferry costs as they go just to get you home.

It basically works like Green Flag over here in the UK, you ring an english 0800 number, get put through to a call centre in the UK, and they send out the nearest affiliated garage to pick you up/do repairs. It works like that in other countries too, except Germany, where a proper branded ADAC truck comes to pick you up.

In essence, ADAC is breakdown cover better than any UK supplier for 1/3rd the cost.

As in the Tax Office Web Site link...

The tax disk is required by law to be displayed on the PASSENGER SIDE, i.e near side or left hand side.

Anyone know where you can get german style plates like that made up? I like :)
