just called AMD about what options they offer for a 1.8t A3 and the guy answered... "Hello Big Boys Toys..." WTF
I have not heard anything but real bad things about these guys... And now they have bought AMD ?? AMD used to one of the top tuners for 1.8t.. Looks like it all down hill now.....

so so dissapointed

oh and the conversation.... it ended there... No thanks see ya....

Thats the 2nd time in an hour we've all talked about these guys. And the 2nd time peeps have said heard nothing but bad things about them. Will be avoiding AMD aka Big G*y Al's like the plague now.

Yeah i am really gutted as i have used AMD a few times and found them very very good....

Now this bunch of adult toy market idiots are in charge it spells trouble ahead.

couldnt agree more. I know when they first publicised the buyout, they had an audi with few models draped over it.

It didnt sit well with the VAG community and they removed it soon after.

AmD were ****** awful.

If they weren't awful, they would have been able to continue to afford to operate under their own name, instead of undergoing a buyout, have all of their fixed assets sold and their customer base purchased.

They 'used' to be good, like 5 years ago, then the founders left, then it got awful, and then Ed left, then pretty much within 6 months Adam sold it to BBT.

In no way is BBT a lesser name than AmD, AmD were purely and simply trading on past glory after 2000...

Dave - I couldn't agree more. AmD went down hill as soon as the original two guys - Geoff Everett and Mike Devine sold out back in 1998 / 1999.

The change of location to Bicester and a massive increase in prices was just the start of the slippery slope.

F***ing Spot On!!

I remember us all talking about this a while back when it happened, but I forgot where did these guys go to? I mean I know Ed is somewhere else but can't remember, anyone willing to give me a lil refresher of their current locations?

Ed and some of the other AMD crew started up automotive performance services in Brackley. Have been there 2 or 3 times and the service is exceptional.

Dave is totally right. Thats one of the best things about this forum - keeps everyone in the loop about movements, who to go, who to avoid, where etc etc. Love it.

i waited 13 weeks...ye 13 weeks for my shocks to come! Jo ordered them for me (good as gospel as far i was conserned, great girl) waited two weeks, no payment, phoned got nothing but an AmD answer machine for a week then got BBT's? eh! they had no idea where my shocks were who'd ordered them or anything! ended up being told they were being dispached had that statement receeded 3 times, was told they were deff in the U.K turned out that was ******** twice....finally got them for cost as i was livid and refused to pay any more!

it was only due to the specialist order (ie two rear Pss9's, not a set) that i persevered!

nightmare, a sad loss! cant comment on the 'drop' in service but i had great service pretty much all the way to 2004?

My S3 was remapped by AMD before I bought it....about December 2006 I believe, after RR'ing 218bhp on a 210engine they only managed to get 248 out of it after the map....not the best result I've seen so I think I'll be having it redone!

Cancelled my re-map in April this year with AMD, just had a bad feeling about the place. My call was answered by what sounded like a 12yr old. Saved myself £200 and an extra 90 miles by getting it done at Chipped UK in Bromsgrove. At least these guys were interested in my car and not just the £££££££.

Lack of comms. No delivery. No clue on whats happened to your order. No more orders coming from me F...wits
fourteen hundred quids worth of order seems to not require attention of any kind and urgency is not the order of the day...how the hell do these people continue working?
