Seareched through the site but didn't manage to find anything. Does anyone know any honest places to get my A3 TDI Quattro serviced in the Berkshire area as my local stealership wants a fortune for a 10K service.

If its 10K as opposed to 100K, if you want to retain the selling value of your car, you have no option but to go to the dealer.

I would buy a low mileage car without a full Audi Service History, the VAG cars are pretty much the only cars left where people insist on full dealer servicing.

no i ment that its got 64K on the clock and was 10k since last service

Still, anything up to 100K I would expect a FASH.

Things like brakes, tyres, consumables I wouldnt necesarily expect to be done at dealers, however standard servicing should be main dealer IMHO.

i had my cambelt, haldex, water pump, and major service done at a specialist for £600. if u havent already got ur cambelt and waterpump done its about ready to b changed. mine was done at 70k and i was toold that was a little late

Personally, as long as it was dealer while in warranty, it wouldn't worry me as long as it had been done and there were receipts as well as stamps.

it had the cambelt changed at 59K so just in time. Just looking for a honest garage to do the service.

i had the cambelt and pump changed at 59k, so just in time. It had FASH upto the end of the warranty then specialist on the last one so theres not much point me going back to audi now, plus they are just too expensive. I'm just looking for an honest garage in my area?

Friend of mine just had the tensioner fail on the cam belt for his a3 tdi.... cost him £600 too rebuild himself... that was just for parts. So definately get the cam belt done if it hasnt already. He was just unlucky as the cam belt had only been done in january.... one of those things.:notme: if your not too worried bout the FASH then look for smaller privately owned garages that depend on their reputation. Guy I use is just like that and I have to say hes one of the best mechanic's ive known... the sort that realies on experience. Guna have my next 10k service done soon... hes quoted me £100 cash.... happy days:icon_thumright:
