i went through it....being anewbie, I do find it a bit complicated...I read RichA3Turbo's post again and again, and still trying to figure it out...esp the inner wing bit

will any facelift headlights fit (with the mods in RichA3Turbo's) or do I need only 2001-2003?

or simpler, will any light after 2001 fit? wthere it is 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

2001-2003 - but unless you currently have xenons you dont want S3 ones.

If you buy the plugs and leads as per the other thread the wiring is quite easy - its just a case of marking where each colour goes to before you cut the wires from the old lights to make your new loom.

Its quite self explanitory once u have it infront of u

Don't think they will fit - 8P part number means it is the new A3 (i.e. 2004 onwards). You are looking for an 8L part number.
