iv got a 2001 1.8t and iv owned it 3 week and i cant find any record ov the cambelt being changed. is there any way ov finding out if its been done or not. the car has done 118k so its probably due if it hasnt been done recently. cheers for any help.

it had an audi service up to 53k and then it has been serviced at a local garage. im going to the garage that carried out the service's and ask if they changed the cambelt. if they havnt i will get it done. along with a full service inc oil change etc.
what sort of money am i looking at for cambelt inc fittinc etc?

prices vary alot...

Ive been quoted £680 from a dealer (including water pump) but paid £360 from an audi independant specialist.

Get the water pump done at the same time.

Have a search through the forums, theres loads on this subject.

I got my timing belt changed a couple of weeks ago by an indipendent garage and paid £260, when Audi garage quoted me £450 - £500

Got my car back today, £533 for cam belt & water pump change and a minor service at an Audi specialist, Audi stealership quoted me £950....

got my car back today vag specialsit, £399.50 for a full cam belt service including water pump and thermostat, and also to remove and replace the 2 front wishbones, using all genuine vag parts, i thought tat was a very good price.
